This series represents the beginning of the process of my transforming found material into art. Much of the debris (natural and man-made) that I used here I found along the shore of Lake Michigan. The lake randomly washes material ashore which I collect. Later, in my studio, I spontaneously and purposely make it into art. I see the process as a metaphor for my belief that life is physical matter infused with animating energy.
